Are you looking for safe, seasonal things to do on a snowy day in Boston? Have festive fun at these events and places you’ll find around the Seaport area — or just stay put in your NEMA Boston apartment, and snuggle up by one of the fireplaces.

Snowport Seaport

Holiday shopping, rooftop igloos, and festive outdoor walks: Seaport is transformed into Snowport this December — a winter wonderland featuring a flurry of activities to take part in, while socially distancing. Wander among twinkling pines while keeping an eye out for Betty the Yeti. Take advantage of the free electric "sleigh" rides and guest gondolas to get around. Book a private curling lane (it's free!), and try your hand at this Scottish winter sport. Do last-minute gift shopping at the multitude of luxury shops, including Helly Hansen, Sephora, and Mejuri. Fill your belly with tempting dishes from Tuscan Kitchen and Better Bagels, or dine in a private "igloo" on the Lookout Rooftop.

A Bracing Walk on Boston Common

The undulating Boston Common is a magical place for a winter wander: Wrap up warm and enjoy America's oldest park, which is as charming as it can be chilly. Be enchanted by the holiday lights illuminating dozens of trees in the park. And — if this Christmas is a white one — see kids making snow angels on the ground and sledding down the park’s hills.

Take a Virtual Baking Class

But if the snow is piled a bit too high and the temps are a bit too low for your liking, you can bring the fun indoors. Fill your home with the warming aroma of freshly made gingerbread by taking part in NEMA’s virtual cookie-making class — with a little help from Boston Experiential Group and expert cookie maker Mr. Butterscotch. NEMA Boston’s residents will receive a kit containing everything they need to whip up a batch of wonderfully sweet and spicy gingerbread cookies. And on Dec. 23, from 7:00-8:30 p.m., they can log in to the NEMA website to get a walkthrough on making this traditional seasonal treat.

There's No Place Like NEMA

For all the good times to be found around Seaport this season, NEMA Boston residents will naturally find themselves spending more time at home. Who can blame them, when options include snuggling up with a copy of “A Christmas Carol” by the lobby's roaring fireplace; watching your favorite holiday-inspired flicks in the private movie theater; rustling up canapés and cocktails in their eminently elegant and perfectly practical kitchens; or enjoying hot chocolate around the outdoor fire on the Skyline Terrace. There really is no place like NEMA.
